Mariah's Story

Diagnosed with osteosarcoma when she was 2, Mariah is now entering her senior year at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. Time to Fly will mark 19 years since her first round of chemotherapy. After undergoing hospitalizations, painful treatment and amputation surgery, Mariah is now cancer free and raising awareness for childhood cancer research.

A friend of Children's Cancer Research Fund and loyal participant of Time to Fly, Mariah recently shared some exciting news. She worked in two labs this summer, one that involved working with CCRF-supported osteosarcoma researcher David Largaespada. She studied the genes that could potentially cause osteosarcoma. Mariah is making an incredible impact for children who face the same devastating effects of cancer that she has experienced.

"The money raised to support research has personally affected me as my treatment included a clinical trial. Now as a student pursuing research, I see how limited funding can be and how events like [Time to Fly] really make a difference in advancing research," says Mariah.

Support kids like Mariah by helping to fund research. Your dollar could be THE dollar that uncovers a cure.
